I'm Eiri Senna (it's a code name though) but in real life I'm Kate Antoniette F. Manzanades. I'm just a simple high school kid (wait do I have to call myself a kid? I'm already graduating XDD) who happens to be a otaku, artist and a cosplayer from the City of Golden Friendship in the Philippines.
Who influenced me to be an otaku?
Hm.. no one XDD since I was in kindergarten, I was not like the other kids who would want to watch fairy tales and cartoons (though I knew about them), I was more engaged in watching Sailormoon, the first anime that I've watched. i really liked their costumes and their powers and they're pretty too.
When did I start drawing anime?
Actually it was "by accident". At first, I used to sing and dance. I've never realized that I could draw. Thanks to Sailormoon. At first, I asked my dad to draw her for me and as if he knew who she was then I started in drawing some figures in my paper and showed it to my father and he said, "you can draw her well. Why ask me to draw her for you?" I looked at my drawing (note: it's not drawn in such a way in human sticks but it somehow resembles the anime style of drawing) and since then, I started to draw my favorite anime characters.
How did my cosplay hobby began?
At first, cosplay is not really popular in Cagayn de Oro though I saw some pictures in the net before. Then there was a time when SM had its 1st Cyberzone cosplay. My plan was just to plainly watch them and take some pictures but the morning of the day of the event, my friend was asking me if I'll join, at first, I declined but after 2 hrs (I think), I opened my closet and to look for possible costumes and I saw my red jogging pants and a plain white shirt and that time, I just finished watching Yamato Nadeshiko Shichi Henge the Wallflower then considering my hairstlye and the length of my hair, I could cosplay Nakahara Sunako (though I'm fat that time). I cosplayed her. From that event, i became friends with fellow cosplayers and do cosplay if there is a cosplay event.
What is cosplay for me?
Cosplay is one way of expressing oneself of being an a otaku by wearing the character's costume and acting that I am the character that I was portraying.
